WHAT IS MEMORY – Workshop on “I’ve already forgotten”

29 JAN > 2 FEB 2024 / Centro Escolar da Luz, Lagos

In the old year of 2023, I visited the school with the workshop HOW TO SEE INVISIBLE THINGS? Together we created mini-installations, hunted for shadows, looked for camouflaged animals, created magic tricks and tried to grasp the invisible. In this new year, I return with a new question: What is memory? And how does it work?
Together we’ll begin an investigation into the paths of imagination and memory.
Starting with Pete Docter’s movie Inside Out, we’ll move on to artistic explorations about memory, forgetting and emotions.

Beatriz Marques Dias has developed her work as a performer and co-creator of artistic creations linked to contemporary dance, participatory art and childhood. As a performer she has participated in creations by Filipa Francisco, Francisco Camacho, Madalena Victorino and Tânia Carvalho. She dedicates herself to contemporary dance, but likes art in general, enjoys discovering new artists and to decipher what makes each one unique. She also likes meeting people who are not artists. Beatriz is currently on her first year of a Psychology degree at ISPA, Lisbon.
