Guest Artists: Mónica Samões & José Pelicano 16 > 20 NOV 2020, E.B. 1 Santa Maria
Taking as a starting point the project of staged readings with children A Chair up the Mountain, we invite two classes of 3rd and 4th grade children to a dive in a playful and creative space of experimentation of words and sound, where the text emerges as a vehicle for a simple discussion about the great complexity of language, and where the children take an active role in a process of discovery, capture and decoding.
Mónica Samões studied Language and Modern Literature and has attended several artistic training workshops throughout the years, in the areas of theatre, dance and voice, as well as several workshops in the areas of pedagogy and education by art, having worked with different directors and choreographers.
She is a part of casaBranca AC board of directors, where she has been developing projects of creation and experimentation aimed at children and youth. She is responsible for the artistic direction and cultural mediation of the Gymnasium project (laboratories of artistic creation in academic context) and for programming the children and youth section of Festival Verão Azul.
José Pelicano is a member of casaB and has been a regular collaborator since 2009 in the areas of design, communication and creation. He works together with Samões in the creation of artistic and pedagogic projects for children, exploring distinct lexicon and formats. He studied architecture and is the author of set and props for productions of several Theatre and Dance structures, having also conceived several graphic content formats, Video, Sound and Multimedia for events and performances.
